Show Order is the list of dances for each recital and concert. Check the list to find out when your dancer is dancing. Please let the front desk know if your student’s name is spelled incorrectly.
If your dancer has 1 dance in a single recital, you can stop reading now!
A Quick Change (QC) refers to a costume change that takes place in the QC room near the stage because the dancer will not have time to return to her/his dressing room to change costumes between dances.
If your dancer has more than 1 dance in a single recital, review the QC Listfor that recital.
- if your dancer’s name is not on the QC list, this means that the dancer has time to return to her/his dressing room to change costumes for that recital. You can stop reading now!
- if your dancer’s name is on the QC List, keep reading for instructions!
Instructions for QCs:
1. Prepare a QC bag for every QC assigned to your dancer. Example: Anna Smith is on the QC list for the Friday 4 pm recital for dances #5 to #7. Anna needs a QC bag for the costume she will wear for the #7 dance.
2. Put costume, shoes, and all accessories in a large bag. Please do not use garment bags or hangers. Brightly colored bags are extra helpful!
3. Label costume and shoes with the dancer’s name.
4. If the QC requires a hair change (for example, a ponytail to a bun), include in the QC bag an ample supply of bobby pins, a hairbrush, hairspray/gel, hair ties, and hairnets. Tip: put all of the hair accessories in a single baggie tucked inside the QC bag.
5. Tape a large label on the outside of the QC bag with the dancer’s name and the numbers of the 1st and 2nd dances.
Example: Anna Smith – #5 to #7Anna’s #7 costume, shoes and accessories should be in the QC bag.
6. 20 minutes before the recital begins, bring the QC bag to the QC room (near the stage at the top of the stairs) and check in with a QC mom. The QC mom will check the bag to make sure it contains costume, shoes, hair accessories, etc.
7. It is very important to bring your QC bag to the QC room before the recital begins!
