WHAT TO BRING/HELPFUL TIPS FOR RECITALS…

What does your dancer need? Check the specifics here.

–        Dancers should have everything labeled (shoes and tights included)

–        Ensure all pieces of costume are accounted for – headpieces, accessories

–        Bring extra bobby pins, hair spray, combs, and makeup if in multiple dances

–        No food backstage – water only. Shows are one hour in length.

–        Dancers should arrive in their first costume ready for stage (makeup and hair done).

–        Please put any additional costume changes in labeled garment bags – the dancers will have help backstage to change their costumes.

–        If your dancer has a costume change make sure all items have been packed.  Helpful to have tights layered if they have to go from pink to tan or back.  Make sure the dancer has everything they need if there is a hair change (brush, comb, bobby pins, elastics, hair nets, etc)

–        Double check for Dancer’s earrings if they are needed

–        Please use the bathroom prior to the Dancer Drop off location and label all shoes/bags and items for ease backstage.

–        Pick up your dancers after each show. For Security purposes all dancers (excluding Dance Company) must be dropped off/picked up at the Dancer Drop off desk before and after each show.

ATTENDANCE…

–        Classes two weeks prior to the recitals are mandatory. Exceptions include contagious illnesses or other pre-arranged absences. Please email buffadance@msn.com if you have not already.

–        This is for dancer safety – our dances and choreography use the entire stage and entire class. Spatial awareness for dancers is key – knowing where classmates are in space while moving is imperative to practice before stage.

MASKS…

–        If you would like your dancer to wear a mask, please wear a skin toned mask – such as the Bloch B-safe mask.

SHOW ORDERS…

–    Show Orders will be sent out to assist dancers with which costume to arrive to the venue.

–    Once you receive the show order –  If your dancer has a quick change (3 dances or less) please bring a Reusable shopping bag that stands up on its own. On the outside – attach a sheet with your dancers name and the change. Example – Clara Hargett – Fri 5:30pm – Trolls #3 to Party Time #6. Our Quick change crew will assist your dancer.

–    More info will follow if your dancer has a Quick Change.

MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSALS

–        Monday, May 6th– Thursday May 9th in class at the studio. Your child should arrive in costume, hair and make-up – if they have additional classes for the day – please send them with a labeled garment bag.

–        For additional classes on the same day – they are welcome to use our 8 restrooms or our dressing room. They are also able to be released to you in the parking lot to change in your car and re-enter.

Check out the specifics for your dancers’ classes here!
