Published in the Burke Connection Newspaper March 19-25, 2015 edition— Ensemble Dance Company members from Buffa’s Dance Studio competed at the Contest of Champions held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando on February 27th. Four of its members were recognized as Solo National Champions in different age divisions.

Published in Burke Patch, March 10, 2012—The Senior Dance Company from was named Grand National Champions at the Contest of Champions Nationals last month.  Competing at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida, the team captured first place awards in the Lyrical, Modern, Jazz and Pom categories.

The Grand National Champions award included a $3,000 prize and an invitation to perform in the 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Emma Bradley, a junior at , was awarded first place for Senior Solo, and Emma Presing, an eighth grade student at Alexandria Country Day School, captured first place in the Junior Solo category.

The Senior Dance Company will be competing again at:

• Dance Maker’s Inc. (DMI) in Tysons Corner, VA, March 23 – 25;
• Showstoppers in Woodbridge, VA, May 18 – 20;
• The Dance Awards in New York City, NY, July 4 – 11.

Published July 18, 2012 in Burke Patch—Emma Bradley, a dancer from in Burke, was awarded several scholarships to prominent college dance programs while competing at New York City Dance Alliance (NYCDA) National Finals.

The audition process included a ballet class and a contemporary class, while representatives from the universities observed.

The rising senior at was awarded:

• A $40,000 scholarship to Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA
• A $48,0000 scholarship to Marymount Manhattan in New York City, NY
• A full tuition scholarship to University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA

The scholarships will be held for Bradley, until she decides where she will study after high school.

The New York City Dance Alliance Foundation, Inc., was founded by Joe Lanteri in 2010.  The program is dedicated to helping young performers by providing them with life changing opportunities.
